volunteers that would want to help around the Olympics? They can sign up
to volunteer at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by
becoming a London Ambassador. 8,000 volunteers are needed to welcome the
world to London .
London will experience a huge influx of visitors come summer 2012 and volunteers will be needed across the capital at airports, station concourses, tourist attractions and near Games venues. Some London Ambassadors will be Team Leaders, who will supervise other volunteers.
London Ambassadors will provide a personalised, passionate and knowledgeable welcome and information service to visitors, as well as supporting the needs of residents going about their daily business.
Volunteers should have the confidence, patience and resilience to communicate with people from all walks of life and have a real passion for London .
In order to apply to be a London Ambassador, your volunteers must- - Be 16 years or over on 1 January 2012 - Be able to volunteer at a site in London - Be able to commit to 6 consecutive days of volunteering between 20 July and 10 September 2012 (you can volunteer for a maximum of 18 days if you wish) - Be able to provide 2 references - Be willing to attend a 45-minute one-to-one interview and group exercise between May and Aug 2011 - Be willing to attend 3 training sessions between January and June 2012 - Be willing to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure (police check) if you wish to volunteer as a Team Leader
